Heather MacLeod

Violin and Viola Teacher
Originally from Scotland, Heather MacLeod began playing the violin at the
age of six. She earned a Bachelor of Music with Honours from the Royal
Conservatoire of Scotland, followed by a Master of Music in Performance with
Distinction from the Royal Northern College of Music.

In 2024, Heather joined The Hallé Orchestra as part of the second violin
section. Prior to this, she enjoyed a diverse freelance career, performing with
ensembles such as Scottish Ballet, Manchester Camerata, the BBC
Philharmonic, and The Orchestra of Opera North. Her versatility has also led
to collaborations with a wide range of artists including Gary Numan, Diana
Ross, Disturbed, Echo and the Bunnymen, Evanescence, Twin Atlantic, The
Snuts and Public Service Broadcasting. She also runs her own business,
Dahlia Music, alongside her sister Kirsty.

A passionate multi-instrumentalist, Heather also plays viola and piano, and
she enjoys arranging traditional music in her spare time. She’s passionate
about sharing her love of music with students of all ages, always aiming to
spark inspiration and enjoy the journey along the way!
